I'm an alcoholic
I'm going to my first AA meeting Sunday. I'm originally from Chicago, married a Brit and live in a small villagein the UK. I have no one to talk to. My husband is in denial. He drinks like a fish. I'm cleaning up,,,with his support or not. But I think he's a jerk for just carrying on with his intense drinking.
I've tried to find support AA communitiies here in the UK (in LJ) and no matches.
I just need to speak to someone occasionally. I know I'm in for one hell of a ride.
Thanks for listening.
Re: I'm an alcoholic (ME TOO)
Hey Kristen, I was just lurking around the "sobriety" interest area...I am an alcoholic too. I have been sober for eight months. I belong to soberfreaks in LJ & just started posting. I am having a wonderful time in my recovery. I'm always interested in what is working, or not, for other people. I'm from Seattle and live in SE Georgia (talk about your culture shock!)
I'm online all day while I'm at work and will respond if you need to talk. I know this is a couple of months later, but I'd love to know how you're doing.
